We're almost there...

We only lack a few folks to reach 100% of the entire Campus being trained on Gmail.

In addition, we really appreciate your patience as various "bugs" are worked out and issues handled through the IT Help Desk.

Throughout the week, we had the opportunity to benefit from some of the "Gmail Veterans" who shared with us some of the tricks of the trade...

...while yet, still a common thread that ran throughout the training was the desire to help others grasp the nuances of the new email system.  All in all, people seemed to enjoy the experience.

With an entire week of training incorporating 91% (88/97) of all TSTC Marshall full-time employees in 14 sessions over a period of 28 hours in which approximately 500 hundred gigabytes of data was migrated from one email system to another over a  period of 120+ hours in roughly 5 days, we would like to extend our thanks to the following team members:

"Go Live" tomorrow (10/17)...

Well, tomorrow's (10/17) the big day!  We "Go Live!" with Gmail. 

As of Friday at 1:30 p.m., the MX alias file was completed and all mail from Groupwise was re-routed to our Gmail accounts.  After taking several hours to run, the file more than likely has completed its "run."  Something must be working because I now have over 11,000 emails in my box!  With this in mind, please note the following:

Priority 1 - Problems - Utilize the Help Desk number, 1.800.592.8784 if you feel that something is not working correctly.

Priority 2 - Two members from the IT Strike Team will be coming to our Campus this Monday to be on hand as we make the transition.

Priority 2 - Those who have not received training will need to contact their supervisor and schedule an appointment with one of the Campus Training Team members.

Priority 3 - Installation Needs - Call the Help Desk number this week, 1.800.592.8784, if you need the Gmail Notifier, Google Desktop Widget, or Outlook client installed on your machine.

Thanks to all those who attended today's sessions, we are approaching the half-way (70) mark for our Campus (140+).  The facilitators have really done an outstanding job, and we pick up new tips and tricks each session from each other.  People seem to really be awed by the calendar...and the signature tool.  It's always a pleasure working with each one of you and we look forward to the next session, when we will see new faces and go to new places... with Gmail...

Today is a great day!

The migration process has begun for all those who have received their training.  'And before long, Groupwise will be only a memory...
At this time, six sessions of training have been held totaling  46 TSTC employees, which means we're a little past one-third of all TSTC Marshall Campus personnel. 

Help us reach or goal to train 100% of all 140+ employees by Friday, 14, October.

'A big "Thank you" to all those who have helped make this change a reality...
